Have you ever talked or thought about doing something like visiting a sick friend, or making a call to an old friend, or writing to a relative, or dropping in on a neighbor, but for one reason or another you let the notion pass?  Maybe in the future you find that events were going on in that person’s life that make you ask, “Why didn’t I follow my feelings and give them a call?  I wish I had.”

If you can relate to this, then let me suggest that there are two relevant thoughts contained in this scenario.  The first is our need for interaction with others who are out of our daily circle of contacts.  I believe that many of the souls we welcome into our lives are gifts. Gifts need to be appreciated and usually have some value to us.  Sure a gift we receive for a birthday may not always be in our sight, but when we do come in contact with it we can be flooded with warm feelings of who gave us the gift and the kindness it represents.

The gift of other souls in our lives bring us together with our emotions and remind us that we are not alone in the spiritual quest of life.  They provide us with a different set of eyes with which to see the world and have different perspectives to evaluate events and places.  Like any other gift, there is a gift giver.  That higher entity many call God has given us diversity as a gift in the form of other souls.  Even though we question if others are really a gift sometimes, we must look hard at those who have been brought to us.

The second thought that comes to mind is, “why do we not trust our intuition about making contact with those people we think of?”  My excuse is laziness or I try to convince myself I am busy at the moment and will get to it later.  Sound at all familiar?  When I do follow that inner voice and write or call or visit someone who has been on my mind, I am almost always rewarded.  Whether I know it or not, I have made an impact on someone else’s life and that can’t be bad for my soul.  If you don’t believe that, think about the last time you were the recipient from another soul who contacted you out of the blue.  How did it make you feel, and how did it make you feel about the person who contacted you?

Like the gift of other souls in our lives, intuition is a gift.  Intuition is not gender bias, as many would have us believe, as it is also a gift from a higher source that believes that all are entitled, women and men.  All we need to do is quiet our mind to hear this gift to receive.

This past week I have put into action my desire to reconnect with many others from relatives, to old friends, to business acquaintances through Awaken The Soul.  The outpouring of support and love has overwhelmed me.  I definitely feel more connected to those around me as well as my higher self.  Maybe you should try to connect with a person you have had thoughts about writing or calling or visiting and you just haven’t had the time.  Trust your inner voice and put the thought into action.  It will probably do something very special for them and you and help you to awaken your soul.
